Innovative Dehumidifier Systems was on-hand recently at the 2014 Palmetto Affordable Housing Forum held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, SC on April 22nd and 23rd, 2014. The South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority (SC Housing) and its statewide housing partners, the Affordable Housing Coalition of South Carolina, USDA-Rural Development, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs, have worked together for the past 19 years to offer an informative and educational experience where housing industry professionals can collaborate on ways to improve and expand workforce housing opportunities and solutions within the state.
Attendees included representatives from local, state, and federal governments, for- and non-profit organizations, developers, real estate professionals, legal industry professionals, financial and lending professionals, social service agencies, affordable housing advocates, and many more. During the two-day event, The IW-25-1, In-Wall Mounted Dehumidifier by Innovative Dehumidifier Systems was one of the more popular exhibitor stations as several property management professionals, developers and construction experts stopped by the booth to discuss excessive humidity issues along with occupant behavioral challenges with the staff from Innovative Dehumidifier Systems.
The IW-25-1 dehumidifier was designed as an economical, easy-to-install solution for property managers and building owners who are struggling to combat the negative consequences of high humidity inside apartments including poor indoor air quality, visible mold growth and structural damage. With unique occupant lock-out features such as a built-in humidistat located behind a tamper-proof grille, the IW-25-1 generated a lot of discussion as well as interest among forum attendees. Other dehumidifier features include direct draining into existing plumbing, low operating sound levels (less than 47 Dba), environmentally-friendly R134A refrigerant and the ability to hard-wire the unit or operate using the 120v plug included. Once the IW-25-1 has been installed it automatically cycles on and off, reducing the amount of moisture in an apartment quietly, inconspicuously and inexpensively.
